soooOOOOoo... i took the plunge.

I really didn't want to, but apparently i don't get a choice to turn 34. who knew??? well... being the rebel that i am, i told "self" to stick it! i'm still a kid at heart... so, remembering my naughty glory days... i rolled up to my local bad ass tattoo parlor ( you know Portland... where the tattoo ink never runs dry! ) and had the very slick Karina Figueroa design a custom tattoo based off of my two favorite Heather Ross Mendocino images. The swimming { mermaid } sister & the giant squid! I'm in lOVE! though i won't show you all of it on me ( even i have my limits ), i will say it is a back piece and with Karina's talented gift toward her lady faces... i can only image how sweet the ending will be!

Here's to NOT taking getting older laying down!

Karina's work!

Cheers Kids! Heather

  10. There's something about 34! I thought about getting a tat done but dyed my hair black and purple instead as I couldn't decide where I wanted the tat. Maybe for my 40th I will have decided.... but that's a while away yet! Yours is going to look amazing if her other work is anything to go by. Wow!

  14. i just recently visited portland for the first time, and my husband and i decided that portland has more people with dreadlocks, tattoos, and mustaches per capita than any other city in the states. i'm glad to see you're helping to keep that alive! ;) seriously, it's a beautiful tattoo. the finished product will be awesome!

  28. My brother just got me a new tattoo for my 34th birthday! Just got it done on Wednesday, too funny (mine is not a mermaid though I have my tattooist drawing one out for me). My family and I are traveling the Oregon coast this summer and the man and I were talking about getting a holiday tattoo together can you suggest any place on the coast or should we venture to Portland on our way back? Is there long wait lists? how much do tattoos go for down there? Sorry for the 20 questions.

  30. Love it! If I weren't such a wimp about needles, I'd have a tattoo, too. My mom got hers when she was fifty, so I have 10 years to get my nerve up...

  31. Happy birthday! That's a beautiful unique piece to be proud of. Shortly before turning 30 I had a needle and thread tattooed on my right forearm.
