p.a.t.h.e.t.i.c.

welp... pretty sure that sums up my summer sewing and blogging! absolutely pathetic results through these past couple of months! but, to keep it real.. my head and heart's, just not in it right now. i'm pretty sure this is normal ( or at least, that's what i like to tell self. ) either way... i think i feel some mojo coming back, but you never know with a free spirit like me! hahaha...

i decided in my laziness, that my attempt at the Japanese + and x quilt... really should be two new pillows for my couch. and even though i do completely realize that i'm being a slug, i do actually feel legit with my decision! ;P

plus, i really wanted to start my Postage Stamp Quilt! I worked on cutting these sweet, little puppies up all weekend with my Sweet Hot Yams at the Sister's Quilt show. God love them! they even fed the insanity, by bringing me more scraps! kiss kiss, Elizabeth!!

well... here's to { hopefully } seeing you soon kids! Hope your Summer's being fabulous to you and your loved ones!!

Xo, Heather

  1. Nice to see your name pop up on my blogroll this evening :) The cushions look fabulous! Don't blame you for giving up on the quilt...life's too short! Hope your mojo comes back soon :)

  3. Heather-the pillows look great. We are getting ready to move and I am starting to think about what I want to do in the living room after the move. We have a pretty boring couch that really needs to be replaced, maybe some of these pillows would be the ticket. What's that quilt sticking out there on the back of your couch? And where can I see more.

  5. Your pillows are great. look great on the couch. I totally understand about losing your mojo. I have felt that way for quite a while. I am still plugging away on projects but not much to blog about.

  6. Fab pillows! You should just enjoy doing the things you feel like doing at the moment. Besides may as well make the most of summer while it lasts! :)

  7. As long as you're enjoying yourself, you're not pathetic at all! Besides, I think the x/+ blocks look awesome as pillows -- they're perfect for your livingroom and bigger is not always better.

And thanks for pumping out Adele at my office! Definitely improving my day!

  10. I think summer is hard for most of us to focus on blogging and sewing. I wouldn't stress about it, I am positive none of your followers think you pathetic.
I was curious as to the size of the squares you cut up for your postage stamp quilt. Are the 2" square?
Sloth on my friend - might as well enjoy the time to relax.
    Cheers,

  11. I actually like those blocks better as cushions than in a quilt. They look great on your sofa. As for mojo, sometimes it's hard to stay motivated when you are being pulled in so many different directions. Give yourself a pat on the back for whatever you get done whether it's quilting or not.

  15. Love the pillows! I've not been taken with the pics of quilts I've seen from that pattern. IMO the pillow shape/size suits it better. Good call!

  18. While these blocks would have made a lovely quilt, you have to know they look great as cushions on your sofa! Not pathetic at all! Inspired, I'd say.

  19. Your pillows look amazing. I think you made the right choice for yourself in stopping short. It's totally normal for summer to make you lose the mojo! You'll get it back.

  21. Love the cushion covers Heather. Sometimes its the process of making the blocks. They dont all have to end up in a quilt.:-)
I wouldn't mind them on my couch!
